Most important, if you’re not focused on a single industry, vertical, or market segment, it’s impossible to be perceived as a market expert.

When we’re talking about the market, we’re talking about the companies that you’re selling to in your marketplace. Because of the complexity of the organizations and the problems in the industry, the executives that you’ll be talking with expect you to know as much (or more!) about their problems as they do.”
