Corollary #1: Comparison is the thief of joy

You may have big lofty goals to be the unicorn🦄 or to be the next Facebook, Tesla, or Google for your industry…

Well, you should have those.

If you’re truly solving an important problem in the marketplace.

You’re adding value and you know that your product solves that problem.

You know how to service your customers.

You know that your customers are getting tremendous value out of the service that you’re providing to them.

🔥Then, absolutely! Create those big, hairy, audacious goals.

Create a vision and execute on your mission.

🚀Go for it!

👊 Even if you don’t get there in the time that you expect, it’s important to remember that you took nothing – an idea that you conjured up in your mind, you saw a problem, and you tell yourself that somebody ought to fix that problem.

⛰️So whether you have 2, 20, or 200 customers ➜ you are doing 20k or 200k in revenue ➜ 2 or 20 million in revenue — wherever you are in that journey, don’t worry about what other people are doing.

Take a moment and just say, “Wow, look what we’ve done. We’ve started with nothing and we’re at this place,” and be #happy with that.

Don’t look around and say, “I should’ve beat that person,” or “I should’ve been faster,” or “What if this, what if that,”.

🥳Just tell yourself, be happy.

Lesson from the trail.
