You might not realize this…
You might not realize this, but you have a distinct advantage right now as a startup—you don’t need that many new customers to make a huge amount of progress.
If you’re truly starting up, you need your first one, then 10 more, then 10 more after that. Even if you have 10 or 100 customers, the marginal gain for the next one is significant to your company. That’s it! You’ll never have this luxury again! Because once you grow and build your company, each new customer will have less of an impact on your growth.
Think about the largest companies in the world—Facebook, Amazon, IBM—when they report their quarterly earnings. They’re reporting data in the billions of dollars. Right now, if you have zero customers, the first one is huge! If you have one or two customers, getting to ten or twenty is 10x or 20x growth!
