About SalesQualia

Starting with a few Quora posts and a book idea in 2011, I began recording and sharing what I’ve learned over the 15+ years building and selling technology products. Writing led to teaching workshops, which led to project consulting, which led to SalesQualia today.

Here’s more about my personal journey…

If you’re wondering… “where did you come up with the name SalesQualia?…” The term ‘qualia’ is a term from philosophy that describes the senses and perceptions one experiences between the mind and the body. I believe that every entrepreneur has the ability to sell their product – regardless of their experience with the sales. It’s my job to help and guide people to identify their intrinsic abilities and apply it to their company’s success. (Yes, I know – deep stuff!)

I’m not here to teach you slick retorts to customer objections or cute closing lines. Those things don’t work anyway. My job is to help you discover what you already know, and to help you have the company that you imagine. Give me a call and I’ll tell you more…

I’m a Silicon Valley and startup veteran, spending nearly 20 years building sales processes, developing new markets, and creating technology products for two startups and two publicly traded companies. Throughout his career, I’ve sold educational products, software solutions, data services, and consulting engagements to:

  • Top universities, including Duke University, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania;
  • Financial firms, including Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and Freddie Mac;
  • United States government agencies, including the Federal Housing Financing Agency, the Department of Treasury, and the Federal Reserve Bank.

I also teaches university courses in Sales Management, Pricing, Marketing Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management and recently received a “Faculty Member of Excellence” award in 2012, and have been interviewed on CNBC, NPR, and The Financial Times.

I live in Northern California with my wife and son, and I’m an accomplished endurance athlete – a three-time Ironman triathlete and I competed in Uberman 2016 – The World’s Toughest Triathlon. You can read about my Uberman experience on my personal blog here…
